Understanding is a relation between the knower and an object of understanding. Understanding implies abilities and dispositions with respect to an object of <a title=\"Knowledge\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Knowledge\">knowledge.<\/a> That are sufficient to support intelligent behavior.<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Understanding#cite_note-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\r\n\r\nUnderstanding is often, though not always, related to <a title=\"Learning\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Learning\">learning<\/a> concepts. And sometimes also the theory or theories associated with those concepts. However, a person may have a good ability to predict the behavior of an object. Animal or system\u2014and therefore may, in some sense. Understand it\u2014without necessarily being familiar with the concepts or theories associated with that object, animal, or system in their culture. They may have developed their own distinct concepts and theories, which may be equivalent, better or worse than the recognized standard concepts and theories of their culture. Thus, understanding is correlated with the ability to make <a title=\"Inference\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Inference\">inferences<\/a>.\r\n<h2><span id=\"Definition\" class=\"mw-headline\">Definition<\/span><\/h2>\r\nUnderstanding and knowledge are both words without unified definitions <sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Understanding#cite_note-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Understanding#cite_note-3\">[3]<\/a><\/sup> so <a title=\"Ludwig Wittgenstein\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ludwig_Wittgenstein\">Ludwig Wittgenstein<\/a> looked past a <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Definition of knowledge\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Definition_of_knowledge\">definition of knowledge<\/a> or understanding and looked at how the words were used in natural language, identifying relevant features in context. <sup id=\"cite_ref-:1_4-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Understanding#cite_note-:1-4\">[4]<\/a><\/sup> It has been suggested that knowledge alone has little value whereas knowing something in context is understanding, <sup id=\"cite_ref-5\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Understanding#cite_note-5\">[5]<\/a><\/sup> which has much higher relative value but it has also been suggested that a state short of knowledge can be termed
